Stay Healthy -- Inside and Out

Do an Art Project with the Minneapolis Institute of Art

Mia wants you to make art at home. They've provided online art instruction, guides to the museum's exhibits, and more. Try this one: Watercolor Resist Painting. You'll need a white crayon or oil pastel, any kind of paper (even just a scrap!), watercolor paints, paint brush and a container with water. You're ready to get started! Click here for the instructional video from Mia.

Practice Yoga

Yoga is a great indoors activity for relieving stress, releasing energy and stre-e-etching your stiff muscles after being inside for weeks! Attend your virtual YMCA with Y360's free fitness videos, including kids' yoga.

Learn a New Dance!

Want to do something active but can't get outside because of the snow? Try learning a new dance! Click here for an easy hip-hop dance tutorial for kids.

COVID-19 Resource Guide

We have put together an online resource guide for families navigating COVID-19. On our website, find resources for food, employment and mental health, as well as educational activities, games, art projects, virtual tours, science projects and more for your kids to stay busy while at home. In addition, for the duration of the nationwide response to the pandemic, CIC will send weekly newsletters featuring different resources for your families.

Free Meals for Families

All YMCA branches have family food boxes available for pick-up, Monday – Friday, 8:30-5:00. Families can walk right up and take as many bags as they need.  Some branches have the food boxes inside the front door and some have it outside on the sidewalk in front of their doors. Find the YMCA location closest to you.
