Dear Subscribers,
"In times of fear, it can be easy to forget our connectedness, to recoil from the world in an attempt to numb ourselves. These are the times when the spirit and the heart of Forest Therapy is needed most. Whatever happens in the next few months, we hope that you will continue to reach towards connection. If these times are a threshold, let us cross it together, with each other and with the More than Human World."
I found those inspiring words on the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy website, but even before I read them I was desperate to get back to "my" trees, to get back with people, to give back by guiding. Emboldened by others who leapt to a virtual solution before me, I too have now found a way to get back and give back. So here's...
An exclusive invitation to our first
Easter Sunday, April 12, 6:30 - 7:30am HST
I'll be coming to you from my backyard, hosting the video conference on the Zoom app. I hope you'll join me live online from your home, inside or outside, or a green space near you. If you're also in my timezone, let's rise with the sun, as our ancestors did, and start the day by greeting the natural world in communi-tea! Here's how.
This Easter Sunday sunrise walk is my gift to subscribers only -- please do not share. I would greatly appreciate, however, if you would spread the word about the public virtual walks launching on Earth Day, April 22, or the Thursday and Sunday Online Walks to follow. Those walks start at 8am Hawaiʻi time and I'll be visiting various trails and trees around Oʻahu.
Let's make it a regular practice to connect with nature, with each other, and with self.
Your guide,
Phyllis
