IEBG April 2020 Newsletter

Remember way back to March 1 when we were fretting about NYC’s  plastic bag ban and how life altering it might be? Seems frivolous now, doesn’t it? Without a doubt, the coronavirus pandemic is a global tragedy, affecting every aspect of our lives with lightning speed. But this worldwide crisis is also a turning point for our other global nightmare which still looms in the background, does not move with lightning speed, but threatens to deliver higher and more permanent stakes.

According to a new United Nations Report the planet is way off track in dealing with climate change. "It is important that all the attention that needs to be given to fight this disease does not distract us from the need to defeat climate change," said U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres recently. (See access to full report below)

In this scary time we all are occupied with the myriad details of keeping ourselves and our families safe. If you feel up for it  here are some fresh perspectives on what coronavirus means for climate change.
