RVTD also announced that its paratransit service, Valley Lift, will operate a reduced Monday through Friday service for only essential trips and suspend Saturday service.

Also, all buses now have marked seats to encourage passengers to practice social distancing. Individuals should only sit in seats that are unmarked. Families may occupy seats that are unmarked and sit in adjacent seats that are marked.

Effective Friday, April 10th, ALL Passengers will need to wear a face mask or covering to ride buses.

As ridership has dropped due to COVID-19, we are temporarily reducing service starting April 14, 2020. This is a painful-but-necessary adjustment that will help us quickly bounce back when this public health crisis passes.

During this time, our priorities are to run transit throughout our service district that is safe for riders and operators, following the recommendations of the Oregon Health Authority and enables essential workers to get to their places of work, so they can keep our community going during this time.

Transit should only be used if necessary to access food, medicine and essential employment. All other trips should be avoided — please follow the guidance of Governor Brown and the Oregon Health Authority to stay home.

The service changes RVTD implemented on April 6, 2020, are still in effect, including:
  • The 1X Medford to Ashland Express is temporarily suspended.
  • The Route 21 North Medford and Poplar Square is temporarily suspended.
  • The Route 27 Medford Crosstown runs on Saturday schedule once per hour.

We’ll keep you updated – make sure you’re signed up to receive alerts or follow us on Facebook and Twitter. We have created a dedicated webpage for service announcements, information, and latest updates, visit: www.rvtd.org/alerts

In the meantime, we encourage riders to follow the recommendations of local and national health authorities.
