Make This Your Last Time | Bar Exam Preparation
Hey <<First Name>>,

So there's a lot of uncertainty and lack of direction these days regarding the bar exam.

Should you study? Do you take the next exam? When even is it?

You're stuck at home now, which may be logistically difficult for studying depending on your circumstances.

It's hard to focus when there are so many things up in the air. Old plans are out the window.

Overall, morale and motivation are down.

In times like this, it's more important than ever to make a plan -- a set of rules to follow every time you need to make a decision.

Old plans are out. New ones are in. To that end, I'm sharing a few things:

1️⃣ Jennifer Duclair (bar exam mentor) is holding another five-day challenge starting this Monday (April 13) to help you create your own study plan.

Start by reading her guest article here on managing study stress and keeping sane during bar prep. You can sign up for the challenge via the link at top or bottom of the article:

https://www.makethisyourlasttime.com/keeping-mentally-sane-bar-prep/

The mind is half the battle!

2️⃣ If you need extra guidance on how to craft your own study schedule while going through Jennifer's challenge, check out this article: https://www.makethisyourlasttime.com/macro-study-schedule/

Templates and someone else's schedule should be an inspiration at most, not something to follow blindly.

3️⃣ MY new plan for you is at least three-fold:
  • Accelerate the updates to my products. Tons of improvements to Magicsheets coming near term -- if you're a customer, you'll see an email once it's done
  • Address the concerns you may have about uncertainty, finances, finding work, coronavirus, logistics, staying motivated and focused, etc. in brand-new articles and emails. Let me know if there are other ways I can help
  • Come up with an extended email series that doesn't just last May-July, but through whenever the Fall exam is, to support everyone taking the bar. That's more emails if you're a fan!

This is an unprecedented shift for everyone.

We want more certainty now, even if it's not necessarily correct or complete. Not everyone will admit it, but I will.

Part of finding that certainty is to, again, make a plan first of all that you can stick by (but also be flexible with), and then act on it.

Moving the wrong way is better than staying still because at least you can correct course and still come out ahead.

In the meantime, help me help you. Let me know what's on your mind by replying back. I read every email.

And if you missed it, here's an article I wrote a few weeks back regarding coronavirus and the bar exam.
