August 2020 Update

    It has been five months since the original lockdown went into effect here in Kathmandu, Nepal. We have experienced varying degrees of opening but still have not been able to meet with our churches per the government’s restrictions. Covid-19 is just starting to spread in the city as people finally have been allowed to return to Kathmandu. This may mean another strict lockdown will be enforced in the coming weeks. With every passing month, the situation gets harder and harder for people throughout the country. Please pray that God would help those who are suffering. 

    As we moved into what the government calls “loose-down,” construction at Camp Refuge resumed. It is our prayer that the building will be complete within the next year. We are thankful to those who have given to this project and for the ways the Lord has continued to provide despite the many present challenges. When we are finally able to gather with believers after such a difficult time, we pray that Camp Refuge will be the place of spiritual rest and revival we have always envisioned it would be. 

    I had begun meeting with Akash last month to study and work on some projects. However, Akash had to have his appendix removed a couple weeks ago and has been recovering at home. We were blessed to minister to him in our home during his first few days of recovery. He is a dear friend and partner in ministry. Pray that he will be healthy  and able to continue his service to the Lord with Beginnings Baptist Church soon.
