Speaking of tips, we've got a new round of winners receiving our fabulous Olivia’s Organics Cookbook and free salad coupons. Thanks to everyone who submitted their best tip for how they make eating organic easy. Here are the winners, along with their terrific ideas:
Herbs on Ice from Carol of Chelsea, ME
I grow my own herbs. Instead of drying them, I use shears to cut them into small pieces and sprinkle them into ice cube trays with water. Once they’re frozen, drop them into a labeled bag and use them all year long. Freezing them preserves more of the natural oils than dried herbs.
A Frozen Organic Apple a Day from Suzan of Exeter, NH
Whenever you make applesauce or an apple pie, don’t throw the peels away. Pop them in a freezer bag. Then toss the frozen peels straight into a smoothie for a nutritional boost.
Finding the Green Lining from Christine of Wilmington, MA
Christine’s tip puts a new spin on one-pan dinners – she adds a layer of organic baby spinach to the bottom of the sheet pan. Then the marinated chicken or fish goes right on top, creating a delicious blend of flavors as it bakes.
