Important Grilling Tips and Reminders
for Maximum Grill Preservation and Performance

The good news in regard to these unprecedented times is the unexpected opportunities for more quality family time, more time to enjoy the great outdoors and more time to cook on your Memphis grill! To continue to get the most flavorful and delicious meats and side dishes, it is now more important than ever to keep your grill clean and operating efficiently for maximum grill performance and longevity.

What should you be doing to keep your grill running smoothly?

1. Clean the burn pot. It is recommended that you regularly check the grill's burn pot for excess ash buildup and obstructions before you start the grill to make sure that the air holes are clear and that proper air flow is maintained. We recommend that you go through this procedure every few uses to ensure peak performance.

2. Clean up grease. To prevent grease fires, clean your grill, including the Savorizer® and the grease tray, on a regular basis. Use the Genie Tool to scrape the grates, the Savorizer® and the surrounding flange where grease can collect. Check the grease pans and clean those as well.

3. Keep the hood closed. Unless the grill is in a direct flame mode, the hood should remain closed. If the hood is left open for an extended period of time, it will cause the ITC to increase the fuel feed rate in an effort to increase the grill temperature. This could result in an overloaded burn pot.
