ArtsLink NB is currently seeking an organized and dynamic individual to provide office administration services for ArtsLink NB staff and their ongoing programs. This position requires attention to detail, discretion, and strong organizational skills. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of office support duties, including general administration, data entry, and bookkeeping. Essential qualifications for the position include post-secondary qualifications in a related field, bookkeeping experience, and 1-3 years of experience in office administration. 2020 ATLANTIC DANCE FESTIVAL
August 7-17 | Compagnie DansEncorps
The 2020 Atlantic Dance Festival (adFda) is taking dance out of theatres and onto the streets of downtown Moncton with its inclusive, accessible, safe, and festive events. Almost all of the programming will be held outdoors to ensure the safety of participants, and it will feature artists exclusively from New Brunswick. Eight performances will take place along a predetermined route that will encourage participants to discover the downtown area brought to life with dance. NB SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL

NBSMF is pleased to confirm that it shall be presenting its four Main Series concerts again this year. Each night will feature a variety of online offerings. 2020 FUNDY FRINGE FESTIVAL
August 17 to 22 | Fundy Fringe Festival
The 2020 Fundy Fringe is a celebration of local artists with options for you to Binge the Fringe in the way that you are most comfortable. The Festival is happy to offer pre-recorded content this year for you to stream on your own time, and also a small selection of live performances, both outside and inside, all with physical distancing to ensure the safety of artists, volunteers, staff and audience. THIRD SHIFT 2020
August 21 to 28 | Third Space
THIRD SHIFT is a festival of public contemporary artworks presented by Third Space, a not-for-profit artist-run centre in Saint John, New Brunswick. Established in 2015, THIRD SHIFT aims to offer citizens a unique opportunity to engage with contemporary art and re-imagine their city. THIRD SHIFT holds space for new experiences and communal exchange through the exhibition of temporary installations, interventions, performances and projections in the heart of Uptown Saint John. THIRD SHIFT 2020 will now put an emphasis on the presentation of contemporary artworks online and the installation of longer-term site-specific projects throughout the Greater Saint John area. 30 DAYS OF PAINTINGS BY JILL HIGGINS
Until August 13 | Handworks Gallery
Handworks Gallery presents ICONS, a 30-day marathon of paintings by accomplished oil painter Jill Higgins. The body of work will consist of paintings that capture iconic local scenes from around the region, from the majestic Hopewell Rocks to the quiet splendour of Lorneville. A new painting will be released each day of the exhibition in the front window of Handworks Gallery. These paintings can be purchased at any point during the day when the gallery is open, and that evening, each new piece will be made available for purchase on the Handworks website. THE 2019 CROSS-CULTURAL CREATION RESIDENCY EXHIBIT ON TOUR

The Galerie Bernard Jean in Caraquet presents the 2019 Cross-Cultural Creation Residency Exhibit, featuring work by Nicole Haché, Tara Francis, and Indigo Poirier. The Acadian Association of Professional Artists of New Brunswick (AAAPNB), ArtsLink, and Mawi’art teamed up last year to create a cross-cultural residency between an Acadian artist, an Anglophone artist, and an Indigenous artist. Through this residency, artists had the opportunity to create new work while immersing themselves in the artistic process of fellow artists. JOB OPPORTUNITY: Join the Owens Art Gallery Team as their Colville House Curatorial Intern

The Owens Art Gallery at Mount Allison University, Sackville, New Brunswick, is seeking a recent graduate for its first Colville House Curatorial Internship. Working closely with the Director and the rest of the Owens’ curatorial team, the Intern will play a key role in the administration and delivery of programming linked to Colville House, a small house museum located in the historic home of one of Canada’s best-known visual artists—renowned magic realist painter Alex Colville. Interns will be given the opportunity to work on exhibition planning and design (online and in the gallery), curatorial writing, publication coordination, and public programming. InterMISSION Residencies by the Fredericton Playhouse

The Fredericton Playhouse is accepting applications for a new Artist Development Program, InterMISSION, intending to nurture and support creativity and innovative practices in artistic disciplines. The InterMISSION residencies offer access to the Playhouse’s theatre space and facilities, tailored to the participants’ needs and availability. Residencies will be offered between September 14 and December 18. Individual artists and artistic personnel will be paid a fee of $100 per person per day. Canada Music Fund COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund: Phase 2 — Part 2

Following the announcement of Phase 2 of the COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund for Cultural, Heritage and Sport Organizations, comes the launch of Part 2 targeting Canadian-owned recording studios, music video producers, record labels and music publishers that are not recipients of the Canada Music Fund (CMF). The funds must be used to support the Canadian portion of eligible music-related activities, specifically, activities related to the production, promotion and marketing of Canadian sound recordings, and activities related to Canadian music publishing. Submissions for Craft 2020: Fibre Reflections

As part of Craft 2020, the Fibre Arts Network is celebrating with an exhibition at the University of New Brunswick Arts Centre. For this exhibition, any type of fibre project is acceptable (i.e. weaving, felting, quilting, stitching, some mixed media using fibre, and textiles). The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA of NB) in Charlotte County is excited to host their second creative works exhibit during Mental Illness Awareness Week from October 4 to 10, 2020, at the Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre in St. Andrews. If you are a resident of Charlotte County living with the effects of mental illness and have a creative piece or pieces you would like to share, then submit your work for juried consideration! Human Threads

The Beaverbrook Art Gallery invites artists to submit designs for a wearable facemask that commemorates the masks we are wearing and their related social constraints as we navigate the challenges of a pandemic. Any medium is acceptable; designs can be made from scratch or added to existing masks. Fourteen masks by NB artists will be selected for a virtual showcase, three gallery exhibitions, and will be worn by dancers of the Atlantic Ballet for post-pandemic performances. Printing Classes at the Saint John Arts Centre

The Saint John Arts Centre is offering two new printing classes in the coming months, and registration for these is now open. The first class is “Intro to Linocut” with artists Nathan Cann. This introduction to linoleum block printmaking is a four-week course where students will be designing, carving, and printing their own linocut prints. The class is suitable for beginners and experienced printmakers alike, and all the supplies are included. To register for this $120 class that runs every Thursday evening from September 10 to October 1, click here. The second class is “Copperplate Etching” with Nathan Carr, a fun but thorough two-day workshop. Students will be learning techniques for how to prepare, etch, and finish the plate, transfer drawings, and pull prints. All supplies are included.
