"Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. He who has ears to hear, let him hear."
Luke 14:27,35
Let me warn you up front... this week's lesson from Jesus is not easy on the ears, mind, or heart. He doesn't mince words concerning discipleship. There is a relational and personal sacrificial component to it, one that does not allow us to commit to Him in a half-hearted way. Despite the obvious challenge that Jesus' lesson will bring to us all, it is nonetheless exactly what we need to hear because, in the end, we want to know the truth as opposed to a watered-down version that leaves us short of what it really means to follow Christ. I will most certainly be preaching beyond my current practice, which makes me uncomfortable. But, that is my calling and so I must rely on the enablement of the Spirit not only to share God's Word with you but see it transform my life in the process.
Reminder to print off your note-taking guide.
See you Sunday in the worship center or online.
