Music Coordinator Part time position 12 hours per week Outreach role through vitality in worship
An exciting opportunity exists at the Northern Beaches Uniting Church multi centre as we seek an experienced individual to drive our commitment to develop vitality in worship and outreach to the community through music. It is the intention of the NBUC that the Balgowlah Hub will be the focus for developing and promoting vibrant and intergenerational forms of worship with a primary outreach to families. We are also keen to identify how music can better be utilised to connect to people in our community that might not currently worship with us.
Key responsibilities include identify, engage and assist with coordinating those who have musical talents as well as harnessing those who are keen to develop and share emerging musical gifts; identify and develop opportunities/groups for people to increase their skills and talents in music for worship as well as identify
opportunities for outreach through music to our local community
Applicants need tertiary qualifications in music (minimum Diploma of Music), be a professional musician or currently performing in a contemporary band or ensemble with the ability to read, write, arrange and transpose music. Good knowledge of church events and ministries and the ability to start up new initiatives are also required.
Applicants must be in a position to demonstrate a high level of personal integrity and a preparedness to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia as described in the Basis of Union.
