Surgery During COVID-19 - Georgia Specific Information

The Georgia Society of the American College of Surgeons 2020 Annual Meeting will be a virtual event with the latest information about surgery during this COVID pandemic.

Please join speakers, Drs. Amy Christie and Craig Coopersmith, for an interactive discussion regarding Critical Care management of the COVID-19 patient. Dr. Coopersmith will open the session providing both a national and international perspective on recent developments of COVID-19 management and therapeutic guidelines. Dr. Amy Christie will then follow with how the guidelines discussed by Dr. Coopersmith are translated to the bedside and discuss lessons learned from working in a COVID ICU. The session will conclude with opportunities for Q&A from GSACS participants.

There will also be a session on COVID-19 & Surgery to include:
  • Triage/Preop Testing;
  • Choosing the patient and the operation; and
  • Acute Care
Dr. Joe Sharma will share what has been learned from the COIVID-19 Registry, and the last session will feature shared COVID experiences from all regions of Georgia.
