UN2020 Campaign Update: July 2020

Upcoming Event:

Climate Action in the COVID-19 Era

The COVID-19 pandemic and the climate crisis demonstrate many of the failures of our present multilateral system.

Join UN75, the Igarapé Institute, and the Group of Women Leaders for the second in their all-female panel series, Friday July 31 from 10:00 to 11:30 am EDT. The panel will bring together women who are leading the way on climate action and finding ways to engage governments and networks to do more in the COVID-19 era.

Register here to join this event.

The UN turns 75

September 21, 2020 is the designated date for commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations. It is also the International Day of Peace. Official commemorative ceremonies will take place mostly online and include remarks by UN officials as well as world leaders from UN member states.

In the lead-up to this anniversary year opening of the UN General Assembly,  the UN2020 Campaign is preparing a full  program of events, partner-sponsored forums, media outreach and political advocacy campaigns to build momentum for using the occasion of the UN’s anniversary as a catalyst for a dedicated process to strengthen global cooperation and the UN system. A calendar of UN2020 co-sponsored events will be sent to you at the end of August. In the meantime, please complete these activities (if you haven’t done so already):
