Welcome to the July issue of Golfing NSW.

Congratulations to George Wing and David Carman - the winners of our June Newsletter competition. George won six bottles of fine St Hallett Blackwell Shiraz, and David, six bottles of Croser Vintage Sparkling. Both answered the following question correctly (as did 67% of respondents):

A player may repair natural wear of the hole on the putting green before putting. True or false?

The correct answer is false - Under Rule 13.1c, a player may repair damage on the putting green without penalty by taking reasonable actions to restore the putting green as nearly as possible to its original condition, but “damage on the putting green” does not include any damage or conditions that result from natural wear of the hole.

In this month's issue...win a wonderful golfing getaway for two valued at over $2,500... meet Golf NSW team member Olivia Wilson...read about two incredible young junior golfers and two golden oldies...and so much more.

Until next month...we hope you enjoy the issue, stay safe and healthy, and wish you good golfing.

Congratulations to the St Hallett Hole-in-One Club achievers for June, including Scott McLachlan from Wagga Wagga Country Club (pictured left).

A total of 18 players from just 9 Clubs scored an elusive ace - click here to see the list of achievers.

Young Fergus Cochrane is a star in the making.

Fergus played in the 2020 Rand Open this month and blew away the much more experienced competition, in a field of over 60 players from Clubs across the Murray District.

Golf really is a sport for all ages.

At the 2019 Coolamon Four Ball Best Ball Championship, John (Squeaker) McKelvie and Roderick (Rody) Hogan, with a combined age of 169 years, proved to be the perfect playing partners and blitzed the competition.

The global COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the golfing schedule for 2020. Public health considerations are the number one priority, and as such, Golf NSW will continue to monitor the regular updates and advice being provided by government health authorities.

Decisions relating to all tournaments will be made at least a month prior to the scheduled dates and for all pennant competitions, it will be 2 weeks prior to the commencement date.

Keep an eye on the Golf NSW calendar for updates...
Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club recently welcomed a new member, 11-year-old Johnathon Hong, who joined with his younger siblings.
Johnathon and his family started playing golf five years ago, and all fell in love with the game, so much so, that they practice almost every day!
And that practice has paid off - young Johnathon became a scratch golfer at the age of nine, and
last month he had a spectacular round at his new home Club...

Like father, like son...another incredible hole-in-one feat was achieved last month at Fairbairn Golf Club.

Father and son members, Sean and Rory Finn, both had hole-in-ones on the same day - one on the 11th, and the other on the 16th. Congratulations to you both!
