The Fifth International Teaching Artist Conference (ITAC5) has moved online - and registration is now open!

Our South Korean hosts have designed an abundant conference, and it will take place digitally from 14th - 17th September, focusing on the themes:

Boundaries into New Pathways:
- Unlearning
- Local & Nomadic Practices
- Peace & Reconcilliation

Over 3 full days of programming, the conference will offer more than 40 sessions led by colleagues from 19 different countries and a diverse range of art forms. In addition to a jam-packed workshop schedule, there will be break out spaces where you can connect with colleagues from around the world, collaborative online art projects, keynote speakers and more. In true ITAC style, we plan for all workshops to be participatory and practice enriching for those who attend. Spaces are limited so make sure you sign up quickly! Urge your colleagues in other countries to meet you there.

Although the conference is online, we expect all delegates to commit to spending these 3 full days in deep inquiry with us. It may be tempting to dip in and out of digital sessions – especially with so many on offer just now – but to create the ITAC community, we challenge our participants to engage fully in these three days as if we were together in person.

It is crazy-hard to schedule live events when we join from so many time zones, so we will make sure all delegates have live, interactive content wherever they live. Workshops will primarily take place between 9am and 10pm Seoul time (which means every time zone can engage with different portions of the day).

Registration fees are low (no travel or housing costs either!), and significantly reduced registration fees are available to those hit especially hard by COVID-19. To allow us to offer this, we ask that those who are joining from larger institutions (or have been less financially affected by the pandemic) pay it forward and contribute the full amount. As an experiment, we will also be offering free spectator passes for the first time to a limited number of people. These spaces will allow people to observe selected content and watch certain pre-selected sessions. Free passes do not allow for real time interaction with participants, but they may suit those who are unable to commit to 3 full days of participation.

As always, we want to ensure our conference is truly international and representative of our community. Therefore, there is a cap on how many delegates can join from any one region - so make sure you sign up quickly to avoid disappointment!

Still need convinced? Here's how people described our last conference:

"From the moment the conference began, to the minute it ended, I was constantly filled with phenomenal insight, inspiration, and support. I left the conference having learned so much, and broadened the scope of my knowledge, feeling uplifted and energized to continue my path in arts education and social justice. Thank you for all your work in putting together the one-of-a-kind ITAC4 community-conference experience."

"By far the most meaningful, thoughtfully produced and actively cultivated conference I have ever been privileged to attend. Thank you!"

"ITAC4 was the first time in a long time I was around a group that cared most about each other and art, not organizations and strategy. That has broader implications in the ways we overly complicated what we're trying to do. It was an eye opener."

"Thank you very much for organizing such an inspiring, fun, informative, thought provoking and creative conference. ITAC4 was truly mind blowing and leaf rattling!!!! I have come away with many ideas...."
