News from our Special Church Meeting | 27 July 2020
Having let church members know on Tuesday evening after the votes had been counted, we are now thrilled to let the whole church know that church members voted overwhelmingly to support the Leadership Team's recommendation that we appoint Daniel Beckett to be our Lead Pastor and he has taken up that role with immediate effect.  (120 of our 149 church members voted and 112 voted yes, with 7 voting no and one abstention).
Daniel is very excited about the next phase, both personally and for GBC. 
Those who tuned in to the meeting on Monday evening will have heard the heavy rainfall while Hazel Bray was speaking.  David and Kathleen Taylor sent this photo and these encouraging words after the meeting.  'We had the rain from heaven and now the rainbow reminding us of God’s never ending love. It was like a seal of God’s approval, and to top it all the wild geese (symbol of the Holy Spirit!) flew over too. God is faithful!'
Bible Society Minecraft Competition
Bible Society are running a competition to recreate your favourite Bible story in Minecraft!  Details here.  For those inspired, why not give it a go!  Or, if you would like to team up (all ages can join in!) then please e-mail Daniel on daniel.beckett@godmanchesterbaptist.org and he will organise a group of people to produce a bigger project.

Prayer Room
Our Prayer Room is now open - access down the Small Hall side of the building.  Opening times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10.00am-2.00pm and Sunday from 11.00am-1.00pm.  Please respect physical distancing and hygiene guidelines as posted in the room, and while waiting to enter.  Only one person (or household) at a time.  A huge thank you to Stephanie for all her hard work to make this room available in this way - we pray that people will find it a place of rest and hope and peace and blessing in the coming days.  There will be different themes each month.
