Hey RiverCross Family,
There continues to be all kinds of activity here at RiverCross.  This week was our first camp for kids, and we’re receiving lots of great comments and pictures from those involved with the camp.  Amy and the summer students have done an awesome job planning and carrying out this unique opportunity for our kids.
The Summer students have also been busy with their next activities.  This coming Tuesday, August 4th they will host a Middle School camp and then one for High Schoolers the following Sunday.  Our students are doing an awesome job and they are so much fun to have around here at RiverCross.  Please pray for the upcoming youth camps.  We’ll have some great pictures to share afterwards.
We are really blessed to have some great guest speakers coming up these next few weeks. This Sunday, August 2nd, our own Rev. Dr. Stephen McMullin will be bringing the message.  Steve works with the Acadia Divinity College and he is a former pastor of this church.  Also, on August 9th, Heather Bell Williams, also a RiverCrosser, will be bringing our message.  And on August 16th, Keagan Marcus (you guessed it, also a RiverCrosser) will be sharing a message from God’s Word.  We’re very thankful for each of these fine people who give of their time and energy to encourage our Church Family this summer.
This Sunday will be the third time we have hosted an in-person service.  It is really great to be together, to visit and worship together in person.  If you would like to attend in person, please register online (if you do not have internet, you can call the office on Wednesdays).  Online registration opens each Thursday starting at 9am, first come first served.   We did not fill up every available seat these past 2 weeks, so if you are wanting to attend, then simply register today.
Tony Dickinson is offering an online summer class based on NT Wright’s popular book, Surprised by Hope.   It deals with questions about heaven, the resurrection, what happens when we die, do we go straight to heaven, and why does all this matter for how we live today.  It will be an online discussion. The class began on Tuesday, July 28 at 7 pm and will run for an additional 5 weeks.  If you would still like to participate in the class, please register on our church webpage.
Plans continue to move forward for other ministries in August and early September as well.  We’re even beginning to think about the Christmas Season!  We appreciate your prayers and we also appreciate your generosity as we know that as many ministries start up or expand in the fall, we will need the finances to support them.
RiverCross, you are an awesome Church Family.  We appreciate your faithfulness and your heart for the ministries that happen here.  Please continue to pray for one another and make a difference in people’s lives each day. God bless you as you enjoy this summer season.
Sincerely His,
Pastor Joe
