I thought that this post could be about a number of things that I've wanted to share for a while, so it's a bit random and not such heavy material.

MERCHANDISING
The impact of the red and white is very strong, and it's very well done, although a bit too many pieces, but don't you agree it's a bit boring? I would have loved a third colour. Maybe a navy? What do you think?
BARNBOARD
This is my talented friend Jennifer Small who lives in Castlegar, BC. She's an award-winning photographer, florist, and recycled fashion designer. Here she is updating on a really....limited budget her new home. It's right on the mark for design and didn't break the budget. I love it! If you're looking for a 'display person' in the Castlegar area, you need to contact her!
This one isn't Jennifers, but isn't it perfect? Corrugated metal, simple barn board trim and a great floor for the 'wet' entry,.
DECORATING with COLOUR
This is the wonderful work of Bayberry Cottage in Saugatuck, Michigan. While most people will play it safe with neutrals and solids, she used colour and bold patterns, which gave the rooms energy and personality.
When you use several patterns make sure you distribute the patterns throughout the room giving it visual consistency and a cohesive look. Also, make sure that the colours have the same intensity, as she did here with the yellows.
ACB BUSTFORMS FROM BELGIUM I have been in love with ACB bust forms for as long as I remember. The quality is exceptional. When I look at this wonderful boutique below, with the ACB bust forms and store fixtures, it feels perfect, warm and inviting.

When I see the ads on Television for Save-On-Foods - Darryl is the 'Face of the Business' Lately he is promoting 'buying local, and why that matters'. You begin to feel like you know him and when that happens you begin to trust him to deliver what he's saying and therefore are more willing to shop there.
I know that many of you will be able to quickly name the 'Faces' representing your local business.
BC FAMILY DAY
As we head into a long weekend I really want to wish you all the best of family days. Be happy and be safe. Forrest and I will continue to work on our training exercises. We're working with a marvelous trainer Michelle Sellars from Cascadia Dog Training, and it's honestly the best money I've spent. He's getting really good at heeling, not jumping on people, not being reactive with other dogs, and even recall so I'm hoping to get him to the water with the assurance that he'll come back to me, as WATER is so much fun for Retrievers!
