2020 AANR-NW General Assembly Meeting Report

This year's AANR-NW General Assembly meeting, which is usually part of the regional convention, was moved on-line, and other convention activities were cancelled.  All but one club were represented at the meeting, and several non-club AANR-NW members were also present and selected a member to represent them.  Officers and committee chairs presented reports, most of which had already been provided by e-mail.  Elections were held for officers and nominations committee chair.  Results were:
President - Donna Jennings, member of Sun Meadow, previously vice-president
Vice-president - Andee Rodgers, member and president of Squaw Mountain Ranch
Secretary - Jim Lahey, member of SLUGS & Tiger Mountain, re-elected
Treasurer - Terri Capshaw, member and co-owner of Sun Meadow, re-elected
Nominations Committee Chair - Susan Bale, member of Bare Mountain Retreat, re-elected

Sun Meadow was selected as the site of the 2022 AANR-NW convention.  The Willamettans will be the 2021 site.

Awards were announced.
There are up to two member of the year awards each year, formerly known as Woman of the Year and Man of the Year.
Member of the Year - Karen Lahey.  Karen is the current AANR board of trustees member representing the northwest.  She led the selection process for AANR’s new Association Management System, personally testing and comparing 60 systems, and eventually presenting and recommending Impexium, which was selected by AANR.  She is the chair of the AANR Membership Marketing committee, which has been very active, and is also active on the AANR Public Relations committee.
Member of the Year - Terri Capshaw.  Terri has done an excellent job as the AANR-NW Treasurer, and as  co-owner of Sun Meadow, helped put on the AANR-NW convention last year, including acting as the sports director for the event, as well as providing an excellent year-round nudist resort.
President's Meritorious Award - Karen Lahey, for her ongoing work with Go-To-Meeting to keep the region active and working through the pandemic.
President's Gavel Award - Dave Smith.  Awarded to the outgoing president.
Scholarship - Justyne G, granddaughter of a Sun Rovers member.  Justyne is in her third year at The Academy of Art University in San Fransisco.
Membership Increase (Percentage) - The Rogue Suncatchers, +20%
Membership Increase (Numbers)  - Bare Mountain Retreat, +9 members

From the New President's Desk

I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all our NW members.  My name is Donna Jennings and I'm the newly elected AANR-NW president.  I have been an AANR NW member since 1995 when my husband and I joined The Central Oregon Tumbleweeds travel club.

While a member of The Central Oregon Tumbleweeds, I held the positions of Secretary/Certifying Officer, Vice-President and President.

I have been a Registered Nurse for 35 years, working mostly in the Operating Room at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, OR and at Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA. I enjoy quilting, gardening, fishing and traveling.

We bought a lot in the estates adjacent to the fledgling resort named "Sun Meadow" in 2002 and proceeded to build our retirement home on the property. George and I helped build the lodge, pour concrete on the back patio area and hand tie all the rebar in the water holding tank located next to the current shop area. It was our strong belief in nudism and the healthy, balanced nudist lifestyle to pursue our dream of living our life as textile free as possible (winters can be a little challenging up here!)

During the last four years as Vice-President, I have worked closely with all the Officers, Club Directors, Club Presidents and members to further nudist ideals and to protect, maintain and promote nudism. I have also taken on the jobs of NW Scholarship, Time and Place and Government Affairs Chairperson.

You have my word that during the next two years I will work exceedingly hard and strive towards maintaining the momentum of excellence for which the NW is known. With this new decade in front of us, it will take plenty of teamwork to navigate the coming challenges which face all AANR regions. By working together, we can build a better AANR-NW!

My door is always open to your concerns and questions.  I can be reached at

Naturally Yours,
Donna Jennings
AANR-NW President
