The Coalitions for Health Improvement (CHI) and the North Central Accountable Community of Health (NCACH) are pleased to once again offer the CHI Community Initiatives funding opportunity!

CHI Community Initiatives Funding is dedicated to:
  • Improving health and wellness of underserved communities across Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan Counties
  • Developing innovative programs, projects, and strategies that connect community partners and improve health locally
  • Promoting creative and collaborative approaches to improve health and factors that affect health like housing, education, nutrition, transportation, and employment opportunities
  • Providing opportunities for shared and regional learning
This is not a traditional grant program. This funding is awarded through a community investment process managed through the Coalitions for Health Improvement. This process includes interaction with the local Coalitions for Health Improvement, including but not limited to: Letter of Intent (LOI) feedback, application review and scoring, and award finalist selection. The Coalitions are looking to fund initiatives that demonstrate innovation, collaboration, and connection to local health needs in the region. Funded applicants will be asked to communicate progress regularly with their local Coalitions, as well as provide other opportunities for CHI member involvement in their projects, as appropriate.

Who Can Apply: This funding opportunity is open to anyone in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, or Okanogan Counties.

Award Sizes: Project awards range from $500 - $150,000

In 2019, eight finalists were awarded with projects ranging from homeless youth outreach, a mobile food pantry, sensory storytime kit for children on the Autism spectrum, and a pilot transportation program for residents of the Oxford house community. Read more about funded projects here.
