3rd AUGUST 2020 - From Pastor Adam Low

Dear Real Life Family,

It was certainly a disruptive week as we in our collective and individual lives were impacted by the emergence of COVID-19 cases in our region. We continue to pray for those more closely impacted and the broader community we live in. Thank you to the leaders of ministries and the people involved in adjusting plans at very short notice. It was an amazing effort and a witness to our broader community of our care and concern for them. Such decisions and responsive action can be difficult to make as we live with the disappointment in creates in the lives of those we love and serve. However, I firmly believe that the wisdom and love involved in such decisions are proved in the fullness of time. Jesus himself remarked: "But wisdom is proved right by all her children." (Luke 7:35)

We will remain with minimal person to person activities for this coming week as we monitor the outcomes of last week's COVID-19 case impact.
However, I am confident with the strong response from both Government and community that we will be in a position to resume our life groups, Next generation ministries and Missional Community gatherings the following week. Please stayed tuned for more information as it comes.

Below is some useful information about activities that are coming up in August as are possible in the circumstances as well as some church news. I invite you to take a few moments to read and view it.

Each week a different member of the church staff team will be providing us with a Monday Moment video that may cover a range of thoughts, reflections, encouragements and insights on daily life and the ministry across the church. Today, it is from Brianne Burn, our Youth Ministry Department Leader. Click the link to view the Monday Moment video.

The First Aid course that was scheduled in March but postponed because of COVID, has now been rescheduled to August 17 & 31 (Monday nights) 7:00pm - 8:15pm. Please note that this time we have a 20 person cap, so it really will be a 'first-in' registration basis.
If our 20 spaces are filled and there is still plenty of interest, we can plan another.

First Aid Course Details & Registration Here

We are looking forward to this opportunity to gather the leaders from across the life of the church to be encouraged, inspired and equipped. Mark this meeting on your calendar and do your best to be there (if you are comfortable within COVIDSafe protocols and considerations). This will be an opportunity to engage with the dynamics of leading in the new world that we are experiencing.
Our circumstances have changed... but our mission has not!
To help us adhere to COVIDSafe protocols and to assist with catering, please register you attendance via the link below:

Message from Heidi in Yangon:

Dear Brethren,

July 25 was my sixth month in Yangon!  I can’t thank the Lord enough for sustaining me, with all your prayers, encouragement and sharing of your resources.

My stay here is always a reminder of His faithfulness as well as your commitment to partner in God’s mission work.  Please find attached what the Lord did through what seems to be only a language-learning packed schedule for me.  I will get used to the “surprises” every month knowing that it appears to be better not having anything “scheduled”.

This month our prayers for Juniper (my visa sponsor) has been answered by the Lord!  The school director called me from Korea saying the English class will resume by September.  As such, I will be expecting training activities for August as preparation for the online manner of teaching English.  Praise God for the timely response to our prayers!  You can continue praying for wisdom for the Juniper leaders as they organise the training and opening of online teaching.  Thank you very much!

God’s blessings of health, peace of mind and protection every day be upon you always!

Serving Jesus with you,
Heidi

Message from Rosemary, our Volunteer Blue Card Coordinator:

The Blue Card Service has alerted us to some significant changes happening to the Blue Card Service from 31st August 2020:
  • You will not be able to commence volunteering or working for us until you have your Blue Card
  • If you need to renew your card, you must do so before it expires if you wish to continue your volunteering/work. If your card expires prior to renewing you will need to step down from your position until you receive your card.
  • Until now EXEMPTION Cards have not had a renewal date. After 31/8/2020, all Exemption Card holders will have to reapply for an Exemption Card, which will need to be renewed every 3 years.
We will be contacting all our Exemption Card holders over the next few weeks with a form to fill out and would appreciate it if you could get those back to the office as soon as possible.

As potentially the strangest year of our lives continues to unfold, I find myself asking the question, "What am I learning - about me, about God, about our church, about what matters most?"    I wonder what your reflections on these questions might be for you?
I'd love to hear them, as would any of the Ministry Leadership Team, if you'd like the share them.

Have a great week!

Blessings,
