Psychometrics and Myth-Making Marketing

Marketing and psychology are very closely connected in more ways than one might think. No matter if it is you, your coworkers, or clients. All of us are basing our decisions on psychological processes.
So if you want to leave a lasting impression on your audiences and customers you need to do more than just engage on a superficial level.
One good way is to create a myth around you and your brand. You are probably wondering how you could possibly do that? If you want an answer to this, you have to check out Mathieu's new article on our blog.
Technology

OpenAI’s new language generator GPT-3 is shockingly good

GPT-3 AI is the newest language model from OpenAI. In the past weeks, the company allowed outside developers to test their beta and find out together how powerful this new tool really can become in the future.

In case you have never heard of GPT or language models at all, this article right here can help you to understand the commonly used terminologies and concepts around this topic.
We highly recommend you to learn more about this technology, as we believe that this will become a game-changer - not only for marketing.

Here are some examples and results of what the AI is capable of right now:

Even though the results are not always breathtaking and mindblowing (yet), you should get a glimpse of the future potential.

Social Media

Negative headlines around Tiktok don't stop

If you scanned the Social Media News headlines of the last weeks, you probably noticed that TikTok had a rough month.
First, the app got banned in India (along with 58 other Chinese apps), followed by getting fined by South Korea for mishandling child data, Pakistan warning TikTok to ban them as well, and now TikTok has to pause their expansions plans in the UK.
Latest news mentioned that TikTok might even be interested in selling the app to US investors, to ward off the security concerns and end the trend of negative coverage.

TikTok is opening up its algorithm and challenging competitors to do the same

In an effort to fight back against all the negative news and mistrust that came up in the past weeks, Tiktok decided to give outsiders access to their algorithm.
As if this wasn't enough, they even keep pushing this message by challenging Social Media competitors to the same and thereby redirecting some of the pressure to them.

How agencies can get the most out of Pinterest

For those of you that are still thinking about whether to add Pinterest to your strategy or not, this advertising guide by Pinterest itself might help you to decide. The short article comes with a couple of links to very detailed and in-depth presentations that will leave no questions unanswered. Pinterest, why and how? Find all the information here.

Google Maps goes social giving each user their own profile

Google Maps is launching profiles for every user. The past year profiles were exclusively available for selected Local Guides, so other users could follow them and be notified about recent updates. Following the success of the pilot launch for Local Guides, Google is now expanding this functionality to all users.
Some of the included features are topic filters, a picture gallery, and even a short profile description similar to Instagram's bio.
