The EuroMarine Steering Committee will be holding a remote meeting on October 14th to make final decisions regarding the preparation of the 2021 (online or hybrid) General Assembly meeting and the final selection for funding of proposals submitted under the EuroMarine 2020 call for proposals. Due to the Covid 19 sanitary crisis and given that restrictions might bear on international travel at the beginning of 2021, the 2021 General Assembly meeting of EuroMarine will be held online. Sessions will either be spread over two days (26-27 Jan. 2021) or grouped on a single day. Updates and further details will continue to be posted to the 2021 GA page.
Lipids in the Ocean Conference 2020, 17-19 November 2020, Aveiro (Portugal)
The Marine Biotechnology & Aquaculture (MBA) Research Group from CESAM and the Mass Spectrometry Centre from the University of Aveiro have announced the 2nd edition of the Conference Lipids in the Ocean, that will be held at University of Aveiro from 17-19 of November 2020. The event is organized by Professor Rosário Domingues from CESAM.
Draft scoping report for IPBES transformative change assessment now open for external review
The IPBES draft scoping report for the transformative change assessment (thematic assessment of the underlying causes of biodiversity loss and the determinants of transformative change and options for achieving the 2050 vision for biodiversity) is open for external review from 3 July 2020 – 28 August 2020.
2020 Call for proposals to the Marine Strategy Framework Directive
The new call for proposals from the European Commission within the framework of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive has been announced. In 2020, the theme selected for this Call for Proposals is "Support the preparation of the next 6-year cycle of MSFD implementation through the marine strategies".

Transmitting Science, which offers advanced courses and workshops in life sciences, has announced its 2020 series of online courses. EuroMarine members are entitled to a 20% discount on the listed course fees.
