The Arc of Indiana/Self-Advocates of Indiana Conference Cancelled
We are very sad to announce that the joint Arc of Indiana and Self-Advocates of Indiana Conference scheduled for November 2020 has been cancelled. Select parts of the conference, including the SAI Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon, will be presented as a virtual conference. More information on our virtual conference will be available in September.

We truly appreciate your understanding and flexibility during these strange times!

Special Olympics Update: Virtual Games
by Danie'l Mize

Hello my name is Danie'l Mize and I would like to tell you about something fun that I have been doing for about five weeks now-- it's called virtual games. I am doing it for Special Olympics because of the COVID, we are not allowed to be together. So Special Olympics and other county coordinators put together virtual games. Some of the things that I have been doing is 10 meter walk, crunches, ball throw for accuracy, and fist punches for a minute. We are also doing stuff for our health like praying for ten minutes and drinking at lest 5 things of water. We could also do a diary. There is so much more stuff that I could do. Like I said-- its so much fun. Until special olympics can get back together, its what we can do to stay active. Stay safe!
Please Stay Safe!
As you've probably heard, COVID-19 cases are starting to rise again in different areas around the country (including Indiana). Governor Holcomb has paused Indiana's reopening plan in phase 4.5. There is currently a state-wide mask mandate, meaning all Hoosiers have to wear face coverings in indoor public spaces (like a grocery store or gas station), while using public transportation, and outdoors when social distancing (standing 6 ft. apart) isn't possible. Indiana will have the mask mandate until at least August 26th.

Sometimes masks aren't a lot of fun to wear, but they're really important in stopping the spread of COVID-19 germs. People can carry the virus without feeling sick or coughing, and if you're not wearing a mask you risk catching or spreading these germs. Stay safe, keep your family and friends safe, and we'll all get through this together!
