Key Findings from Last Week's Polls

The ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, 2020 Presidential election, and the movement for racial justice has impacted the frequency with which pollsters ask about our issues of focus. We will continue to provide relevant polling updates as they are released.

Key Findings from Recent Polls
  • Only 36% of Americans say they will accept the results of the November 2020 election if the candidate they oppose wins because of an advantage in mail-in votes, while a 39% plurality says they will not accept the results. (Yahoo News/YouGov)

  • There is a significant partisan divide on this question: 48% of Democrats say they will accept the results of the election if their preferred candidate loses due to mail-in votes, while 54% of Republicans say they will not. (Yahoo News/YouGov)

  • 45% of Americans have a favorable view of the Supreme Court, while 31% have an unfavorable view. (The Economist/YouGov)

  • A 31% plurality of Americans says the Supreme Court is “moderate,” while 28% say the Court is conservative, and 15% say it is liberal. (The Economist/YouGov)

  • Only 10% of Democrats call the Supreme Court liberal, as compared to 22% of Republicans. Similarly, 42% of Democrats call the Court conservative, versus only 19% of Republicans. (The Economist/YouGov)
