Originally built in 1926, The Westlawn Inn served as a guesthouse for bayside vacationers for the last century. Now, we would like to welcome you as OUR guest for fine dining and fabulous music.

We're ALL IN to make it through
this latest challenge!

Thanks for trusting us to do whatever it takes to serve you safely, and thanks for your understanding of the challenges we are facing. Thinking about the last month - we feel we have some proof that our protocols are working! Most of you know we had a back of the house employee test positive late June. We closed immediately, and every employee got tested. AND - everyone was negative! So, our sanitizing, mask wearing, and hand-washing protocols protected us - and you!

Of course, we did lose another 2 weeks of summer business - that's how long it took to get the test results :-( -  but now we are back open in Phase 2: outdoor dining, carryout, and 50% of seated indoor space (bar included). Naturally, then, we sincerely recommend that you make a reservation or call ahead. We want to accommodate you as much as possible!


So, for our STATUS REPORT:
  • We continue to be open for dinner only Wednesday - Saturday.
    CURRENT HOURS:
    Wednesday - Saturday 5:00 - 9:00
    Sunday 4:00 to 8:00
  • Sanitizing Stations are all around - with wipes or tissues to use for opening any doors, and hand sanitizer to use whenever! We ask that you step back or aside when around anyone else, and to understand that our servers are keeping a step back as well.
  • As mentioned above, we are in Phase Two, and can now accept 50% capacity in both the BAR and the DINING ROOM. At the bar, you can sit together with your group, but we must space the groups out. Once you are seated, you may remove your mask, but please put it on when you are not seated.
  • A repeat from last newsletter - Most of our customers still prefer veranda dining. We have 9 tables on the veranda, and to get one for sure, PLEASE make a reservation or at least call ahead. Make a reservation by either leaving a message at 410-257-0001 or emailing us at thewestlawninn@yahoo.com.
  • During the day, an email may be the best bet as we don't arrive to return messages until 4:00 on most days. Remember that we prefer tables of 4 or 2, but can accommodate up to 6 at a table. 
  • Our dining menu is now a blending of our Dinner Menu, Bar Menu, and Dessert Menu. This menu (below) is also our CARRYOUT menu, so yes - you can get outstanding "fine dining" entrees to eat at home. Our goal is to offer something for everyone in the family, both casual and not. We update it every Wednesday, and daily after that if necessary, as there are many variables in availability. The "This Just Inn" section on the homepage of our website is your best option for the current menu.
  • Many of you have asked about music. Since none of us really know how the fall will unfold, we haven't made any plans yet to revive our music schedule, but we are playing around with some different ideas. ALSO, we really want to re-schedule our wine dinners and book exchanges and other fun events. We will continue to use our 4 platforms (Facebook, Website, Newsletter, and Instagram) to keep you up to date.

Where can you get the best steak?
Right here at
The Westlawn Inn!

   Chef Fletcher hand selects and prepares each portion for our Grilled Filet Mignon. He trims the 8 ounce portion of Superior Choice Black Angus and it is perfect and fresh each evening. It is grilled to our liking and topped with a house made demi-glace and served with perfectly roasted potatoes and sauteed fresh broccolini. A truly outstanding meal, sure to please the steak lover in your family!

TO-GO!

   BEFORE all this, we offered our full menu TO-GO. Only a few of our loyal patrons seemed to know and take advantage of it. NOW, the Westlawn TO-GO! is essential to our survival. Our food is always made to order and we offer an alternative to the usually less healthy fast food choices. Give us a call (with some lead time) and we'll get it all set for your pickup. We are still happy to bring it to you curbside, of course. Top it off with a bottle of wine, a cocktail, or a delicious dessert - all in the safety of your own home. To order, check the website for the most up to date menu, and call in advance so it can be ready when you want it. 

Cautious Precautions!

** We are continually sanitizing menus, handles, pens, payment books and the like.
** ALL employees  wear masks and constantly wash their hands and use the sanitizers. Our servers will keep an eye on your needs from as much distance as possible.
** Wipes, tissues, and hand sanitizer stations are strategically placed by any doors you may need to access (particularly the entrance and the rest rooms).
**Our tables are spaced apart, both in distance and time. They are completely cleaned between customers.
**Food and drink preparation is done with our customary high standard of cleanliness, "and then some!"

* Staying home if you have any chance of being exposed to Covid-19, whether symptomatic or asymptomatic.
* Stepping aside or back to allow at least 6 feet between you and our other patrons.
* Wearing a mask. You may remove it at your table, but if you leave your table, please put it back on.
* Using our wipes, tissues, and hand sanitizer freely.
* Sharing with us any suggestions for ways we can make you feel safe and comfortable.
* Being patient. We are dealing with a variety of challenges and are doing our best.

Our Guest Quarters

No newsletter would be complete without an update on our Guest Quarters! We are pleased that they are booking fairly well this summer, considering the circumstances! They are as clean as a whistle and spacious, so families are trusting us that they can be safe, walk the boardwalk, and support the local businesses. If you have family or friends who might be interested in visiting, please pass along this link to the website which has all the general information.
