COVID-19 news:

Please be advised the South Australian government has announced new restrictions on Monday 3rd August 2020. The new restrictions mean at-home gatherings are reduced from 50 down to 10 people, while patrons at licensed pubs and clubs must be seated.

Please follow all the instructions of staff at all times in relation to these new restrictions.

MEMBERS AND GUESTS MUST BE SEATED AT ALL TIMES WHEN IN THE CLUBHOUSE.

These new restrictions will be enforced immediately.

Bookings for Friday Night Dining are required to assist us with planning and COVID safe management.

Thank you for your understanding during this time.

Friday Night $1,000 Winner!

Congratulations to Susan Goddard who won the Friday Night Member Draw of $1,000. Well done Susan! Next Friday a member could win $300 just for being at the Friday night draw!

Many thanks to our sponsor Ray white Blackwood for sponsoring the member draw.

As no one won Chase the Ace, the odds are dramatically increased for someone to win it next Friday! You've got to be there to win it!

Hospitality News

Thank you everyone, the return of Friday Night Social has been a great success.
Members were eager to get back into the bar and enjoy some great Flagstaff Hill GC hospitality, but more importantly, spend some time with family and friends!! There is also a chance to win some amazing cash and prizes with our Members Draw and Chase the Ace.

Both the Members Draw and Chase the Ace jackpotted to $1,000 this week with Susan Goddard winning the Members Draw. A big thank you to James Leo and everyone at Ray White Real Estate for their continued support of the weekly Members Draw.

We would also like to thank the volunteers who spend their Friday nights selling raffle tickets: Tony Wotherspoon, Geoff Kelly and Michael Cooper your generosity, as well as those who donate raffle prizes, is enormously appreciated.

The kitchen staff have been plating up some exceptional specials to accompany our classic menu. Ridgway restaurant has re-opened for those who like a more intimate setting without the hustle and bustle of the front bar. The Ridgeway restaurant still enables members to be part of the Friday night action, with the Members Draw and Chase the Ace showing on the TV.

Bookings are still required for both the bar and restaurant and don’t forget that children under 12 eat free when accompanied by an adult.

  • Surface remains consistent throughout course
Fairways
  • Colour and density drop out consistent with couch grass noticeable at the moment.

On-Course Projects

11th hole alterations
Over the past 2 weeks, we have installed a new path down the right side of hole 11, through what used to be part of the fairway bunker and reshaped the bunker at the same time. we also turfed the poor area between the bunkers in the centre of the fairway. It has come up quite well.

11th Tee with new path on right hand side

Bore shed
We recently erected a shed over the bore on 15. Having never put together a shed like that before we were quite successful though admittedly learned as we went.

10th carry path
We were advised by SA Water of the need to provide a path to the services on 18th fairway which will be completed this week and will fit with the other work already done in the area.

Juniors

First day of Term 3 Clinics and 26 eager Juniors turned up and more to come next week. There was also lots of keen parents there too!

Parent also had a chance to 'Putt for a tin of Pringles' like their kids. No pressure!!
We finish each session with PUTTING for Pringles!!

Help us find the missing trophy

Has anyone received, or seen, the Captains Trophy? It has been missing for many years!!

If you have sighted it, or know of any likely culprit can you please advise the History Committee. We can then arrange for the engraving on the trophy to be updated.

A Purple Patch

Our Captain, Paul Shillabeer is certainly having a purple patch with a recent hole in one on the 7th, then winning the $500 Monthly Medal on Saturday 1st August with a very creditable 67 (5 under).
