Naturally Boulder’s Forum Series Delivers Insights in an Intimate Format
Please let us know if you are interested in supporting

In 2017, Naturally Boulder launched our Forum Series to foster a unique setting in which participants develop a peer network. What started with simply an Executive Forum has grown to include the CFO Forum, the Sales Leader Forum, the Sustainability Forum, the Startup Forum, and the Founders' Forum. Available through invitation by the group, the Forums encourage participant openness in both professional and personal aspects of life. Each is comprised of 15-18 individuals, recur semi-monthly, are professionally facilitated, and are largely guided by the group itself. The Forums are supported by a limited number of sponsors who are carefully evaluated to ensure values alignment.

New CEO Joins Rudi’s Organic Bakery 
Brian McGuire joins brand now owned by Promise Gluten Free

Boulder-based Rudi’s Organic Bakery has named Brian McGuire its new CEO. Mr. McGuire most recently was president of Steven Roberts Original Desserts. The appointment comes a month after Hain Celestial Group, Inc. completed the divestiture of the Rudi’s Gluten Free Bakery and Rudi’s Organic Bakery brands to an affiliate of Promise Gluten Free, backed by private equity firm Mayfair. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Appleooz Relaunches
Company won Naturally Boulder’s 2014 Pitch Slam

Boulder-based Appleooz, a brand of crispy, dehydrated apple chips, recently relaunched 4 years after it was acquired, then ultimately dropped, by 1908 Brands Inc. Founder Mark Wood retained the rights to the branding after the 2016 acquisition and is back at the helm of Appleooz, a company he founded in 2012. The company won Naturally Boulder’s Pitch Slam competition in 2014 and debuted nationally at Natural Products Expo West the following year. Soon the product was on the shelves at retailers such as Whole Foods, Sprouts, Natural Grocers, Lucky’s, Alfalfa’s and King Soopers. Appleooz is currently available online, direct-to-consumers.

Company previously known as Microtea

Boulder-based Beyond Microgreens launched its flagship product, Broccoli Booster. Made with 100% US-grown and freeze-dried broccoli microgreens, each serving has concentrated nutrients, most notably sulforaphane, which is known to support an active immune response, healthier aging, decreased inflammation, and promote brain health and focus.

Boulder Organic Foods Launches Cauliflower Dip 
Roasted Garlic Cauli Dip in Costco Midwest for a limited time  

Boulder-based Boulder Organic Foods is launching a line of keto-friendly cauliflower dips, and the first product will hit shelves in Costco Midwest stores in early September. The Roasted Garlic Cauli Dip has a smooth, creamy texture from a blend of cauliflower and white beans and sweet, toasted notes of roasted garlic. The dip is certified organic and certified gluten-free.

Expanded distribution adds to availability in King Soopers, Lucky's, and more

Boulder-based Pasta Jay's, a local favorite restaurant for more than 30 years, will sell its pasta sauce in 100 Costco and Safeway locations.1908 Brands, a Boulder-based parent company, licenses Pasta Jay’s sauce and has landed the sauce on store shelves at King Soopers, The Fresh Market, Ralphs, Lucky’s Market and Raley’s Supermarkets.

Now Available in 80 King Soopers locations across CO

Denver startup, Basis Clean Hydration, recently launched in 80 King Soopers locations across Colorado. The grocery chain contacted them roughly a year ago when looking to launch a next-gen hydration beverage for their customers. Basis' electrolyte beverage can be found in the natural refrigerated section.

Join our larger community as Naturally Austin hosts this important event
Naturally Austin is offering anti-racism training for individuals and companies through Peniel Joseph, Professor of Public Affairs; Barbara Jordan Chair in Ethics and Political Values at the University of Texas. If you are interested in joining this training for a fee please email nikita@naturallyaustin.org. Naturally Austin will follow-up with next steps and a confirmed date once they gauge interest. 

Peniel Joseph holds a joint professorship appointment at the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the History Department in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also the founding director of the LBJ School’s Center for the Study of Race and Democracy. In addition to being a frequent commentator on issues of race, democracy and civil rights, Joseph wrote the award-winning books Waiting ‘Til the Midnight Hour: A Narrative History of Black Power in America and Dark Days, Bright Nights: From Black Power to Barack Obama. His most recent book, Stokely: A Life, has been called the definitive biography of Stokely Carmichael, the man who popularized the phrase “black power.” Included among Joseph’s other book credits is the editing of The Black Power Movement: Rethinking the Civil Rights-Black Power Era and Neighborhood Rebels: Black Power at the Local Level.
