Seasonal Closures for Wildlife Protection Lifted

Closures have been lifted at Cathedral Spires Park, Clear Creek Canyon Park, Deer Creek Canyon Park, Hildebrand Ranch Park, North Table Mountain Park, and South Table Mountain Park. It was a strong year for Jeffco Open Space’s raptors, with five successful golden eagle nests that are fledging 1-2 chicks each, and two successful nests in Clear Creek Canyon Park. The month of July is critical for the fledglings’ future success, which is why our closures extend to the end of July.

Fire Mitigation at Elk Meadow Park

Crews will be conducting fire mitigation work along a segment of Stagecoach Boulevard at Elk Meadow Park through November 30. This project will reduce wildfire risk and increase the safety of firefighter response and resident evacuation along Stagecoach Boulevard in the event of a wildfire. Please allow crews and equipment plenty of space to work. Thanks for your patience!

Closures for Trail Improvements at North Table Mountain Park

Trail improvements will take place on North Table Loop at North Table Mountain Park. Expect closures from 8:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. Tues-Thurs through August as we address areas of seasonally muddy conditions. Closure may be extended if necessary.

Hiwan Heritage Park and Museum Virtual Tour
The vibrant history of Jefferson County comes to life at Hiwan Heritage Park. A magnificent, 25-room log lodge, now a museum, is the centerpiece of the grounds. This Colorado rustic architectural classic evolved from a one-room cabin constructed in 1893. The lodge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Throughout the lodge are original and historic furnishings. Native American artwork is on permanent display.
