The news arrives
each morning like a pack of beached whales,
heaving and bleating,
on the helpless sand.
Every day I say
it is not my problem
But every day
It is deeply my problem.
...
I am sure it cannot get worse
And then it gets worse.
I am sure it is somewhere else
And then it is inside me.
I am sure I can forget
And then it is coming sideways out of my mouth.
...
I am checking things off of this infinite list.
I am blinking into the sun.
I am loving as my heart breaks.
I am in the thick of it when I thought I was done.
...
Then,
I am a deep breath in heavy traffic.
I somehow receive the gifts I am bringing.
The answer is mine when I don't think I have it.
I am screaming until I am singing.
...
There’s a way.
There’s a way.
There’s a way.
There’s a way.
There’s a way.
...
There's a way forward.
And I know it must go through me, too.
Just like it goes through you.
This weekend, may you see the gift wrapped inside the test.

Whatever Magic You Need was a #1 new release in the Inspirational Poetry category and has received many great reviews, like this one.
"I didn’t know what to expect when I picked this book of poems up. I was delighted, surprised and inspired by the potent and magical truth woven into each page. I look forward to reading these often as a way of reMINDing me of the beauty inside and outside of all of us." -- David C.
