It was good to see so many of you at our eSOSORT meeting online last month! However, it was not the same for us to participate only online. We missed interacting face-to-face, and the fun times we have when we are all together.
We would like to invite you to imagine much happier days in the future. A time when COVID has been beaten by a successful vaccine and it is safe to travel again. A time when we can look forward to having a meal with friends in groups larger than two. A time when we can see each other smile because we are not wearing masks.
We hope that time will be next spring, in April 2021. We have a wonderful host who is already preparing a welcoming party for us. Gari Aristegui, our local host for the next meeting, is hoping for the conditions we described above and is planning a wonderful meeting in San Sebastian, Spain.
We know that the immediate future is uncertain and that we must put our own health first at this time. But our mental health will improve if we have something great to look forward to. So, we invite you to think about traveling to this beautiful city of San Sebastian to meet your friends. It’s much too early to register for the meeting or to book your flight.
It's time now to work on preparing your abstract for the Congress so that we can all keep improving our knowledge about orthopedic and rehabilitation treatment. Structure your research idea and get it in shape to present next year in San Sebastian. Now is the moment to be an active SOSORT member.
The opening of the meeting website will happen in September, and we will start receiving your work at that time. There will be plenty of weeks to complete this task, but you must start thinking about this now and preparing your research.
We, Judith Sanchez Raya from Barcelona, and Patrick Knott from the US, will be the co-chairs of the scientific committee, and together we will bring an enthusiastic group of scientists and clinicians to San Sebastian. Imagine yourself there with us!
