‘You can’t always get what you want’

... in the immortal words of Sir Michael Philip Jagger
‘but if you try sometime you get what you need’
Walking in the Biescczady NP
We all wish to free ourselves from lockdown and take to the air or our feet. The world is, at least for now, a smaller place. Armenia and Uzbekistan are still closed and reluctantly we are reviewing dates for 2021. So maybe travel needs to be closer; safer and potentially more of a mystery.

Closer is a two hour flight to Krakow to join our tour of Southern Poland, where we will be accompanied by our local guide, Michalina, and the author will provide bag carrying and very light entertainment. Discover with us the largest market square in Europe, shorn of international tourists; explore the beauty of the Bieszczady National Park and lunch in a square at the historic fortress town of Przemysl, after touring its Renaissance churches.
The Mani Peninsula
Safer is our small group size with no more than eight (8) people on any tour; your own personal protective equipment provided by Kudu and social distancing on all transportation.

And the mystery: join Ruth in Greece for a sojourn through the life and mind of one of the great travel writers, Patrick Leigh Fermor, walker, socialite, war hero and all-round cad and bounder. Daily walks offer long views, autumn colours and inspiring upland scenery. We explore the classical sites of Olympia and Thermopylae, the Meteora monasteries ‘suspended in air’, the lighthouse at Cape Tenaro and the fabled tower houses in the remote Mani peninsula.
Rufous-breasted hermit
For winter sunshine, the Grenadines, with Fi Lowry, are open and enthralling; La Reunion, the vibrant multi-cultural French island in the Indian Ocean, will entrance you and Morocco provides great walking, eating and retail therapy – anyone for a rug? Join Sarah on either of the latter two or ask us about Secret Cevennes, a private walking tour for a small group of friends.

LATE NIGHT COMET: LAST CHANCE

We were fortunate to see Neowise, the Comet visiting earth, just a short walk from our home in the Moravian uplands. Tonight (Saturday) if you rise at before dawn, around 3.30 a.m., and the sky is clear, this marvel of the skies should be visible just below the Big Dipper.
