His Divine Birthday
On August 10th 1959 our beloved Guruji Paramahamsa Prajnanananda was born. Although such a meditation master has transcended birth and death, the advent of their birth in human form is truly a day to rejoice. Very few who attain the highest state of nirvikalpa samadhi remain in the physical form for the benefit of humanity. A spiritual master, like Shri Guruji, who stays and teaches, lives a life of selfless sacrifice with boundless love (and patience!) for their students.
With deep gratitude may we remember all the gifts and blessings Paramahamsa Prajnanananda has brought into our lives. His embodiment of immense love and wisdom, has shone an eternal light upon our path. The technique of kriya yoga is also a priceless gift from the guru. We are not left to practice meditation on our own, rather, we are steadily guided by the subtle presence of the masters.
What gift could we then give to the guru on His birthday?
Shri Guruji teaches that to love God in every breath is the simplest and best teaching. He has also taught, to truly serve the guru is to follow his or her teachings, to put what we have learnt into practice.
With this in mind, may we remember to observe our breath with love while simultaneously watching the divine power within, activating and enabling all our activities. May our lives become a continuous kriya, a celebration of kri + ya, activity united with divinity.
