The Employers Quality Standard is an accreditation for people who receive direct payments to employ a personal assistant.

By completing the accreditation, employers can show that they understand and meet all the responsibilities expected of them.

Face Mask Guidance and Information
It is now mandatory to wear a face covering when going shopping or using public transport in Scotland. The few exceptions include banks and cafes or restaurants.

Face coverings include cloths that covers your mouth and nose, religious coverings and visors. Face masks are sold in many local shops and online.

Face Covering Exemptions: Not everyone can wear one. People are exempt if: They have a disability or health condition that means they cannot put a covering on A covering will cause them severe distress or anxiety They need to communicate with someone who relies on lip reading They have a reasonable need to eat, drink or take medicine.

Assistant Chief Constable Gary Ritchie issued this message of reassurance in response to the concerns raised by disability communities and organisations.

The First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon is encouraging young people with caring responsibilities to apply for the Young Carers Package. You can view the video here.

The package contains resources and perks for young people to take advantage of. More information and how to apply can be found here.

The closing date for applications is noon Monday 17th August 2020. More information on the two following positions can be found here.

Development Worker - 16 hours per week
This position has responsibility for developing our support for carers of people with substance dependencies. This will include providing one to one support to carers and developing support to our Lifeline and Access to Lifeline Groups.  In addition to developing new, early interventions supports to prevent carers reaching crisis.


Self-directed Support Advisor (Angus) - 28 hours per week
This role's responsibility is to empower people to have genuine choice and control over the way in which they lead their lives, ensuring that they have comprehensive advice, information and support to enable them to purchase their own care and support services in Angus.
