Reminder of Limited AAS Activities
Thank you all for your dedication to volunteerism and to this program. I know many of you are anxious to get back to cleaning up your streets, and in response to this feedback, the City of Frisco is asking that you help us in doing so safely. I have spoken with several groups and in addition to your feedback, I'm including new guidelines, based on CDC recommendations and Keep Texas Beautiful best practices are as follows:
  • NO cleanups with large groups - individuals or households ONLY.
  • Participants must use provided safety equipment (litter grabbers, gloves, and vests).
    • if your gloves break, throw them away, sanitize your hands, and grab another pair.
    • DO NOT pick up PPE like gloves or masks unless using a litter grabber.
  • We strongly recommend using a reusable cloth mask.
  • Keep a minimum of 6' away from any passerby.
  • Don't eat or touch your face until after you've washed your hands.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after your litter cleanup, for at least 20 seconds with warm water and soap.
Cleanups are not being required through the end of 2020, this is only for households and individuals who would feel comfortable and will adhere to the guidelines above.
NO large group cleanups.

Due to limited supply availability and the time necessary to sanitize supplies between cleanups, we ask that you schedule your cleanup at least a week in advance. If we are unable to fulfill supplies for your request, you will receive an email letting you know you can schedule for a different week.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience moving forward.

Other Ways to Help Out

1. The best way to fight litter is at the curb! Be sure to bag your trash and recycling and make sure the lid to your carts fully closes.
2. Passive composting (cold composting) - leaving yard trimmings like leaves, grass, and branches in a pile to decompose. Use chicken wire to keep all of the debris in, and "leaf" it alone! This way requires no added fuss, just don't add any food scraps so your rodent and bug friends keep their social distance.
3. Break down your boxes, I know it may seem like a little thing, but with so much delivery going on, we want to make sure your recycling fits! Help us by breaking down your boxes.
