Pastor's Forum Follow Up

First, a personal thank you to those who took the time to participate with us. Unfortunately, a number of leaders did not join, for a variety of reasons, which was disappointing. This is a critical time of upheaval and change in which we as a church have an important role. We need everyone on board.

I am planning a second forum in September to put some plans for the future in motion. I need your participation.

Proposed Second Forum Date

Saturday, September 26 from 1-3 PM
If you are a credential holder, or a church leader, it is part of our obligation to participate. Please make this a priority.

Action Items from Our First Forum

One evident course correction is the move toward engaging God-seekers who are not presently a part of our churches. Karen Tomasetti uses the phrase "media missionaries". We have a history of sending out missionaries. To succeed, the persons have to have a "missionary mindset". That means being ready to learn the new language and adapt to the realities and culture of your new world.  As with any missionary endeavour, that requires a significant reorientation and refocus of our energies to address the new demographic.

From our first forum, here are some initial steps that can best be accomplished if we work together and engage the corporate-wide talents that we have been blessed with.

Coordinate Our Online Presence

Most of our churches have successfully used media to reach, not just our own congregations, but many others outside the local church. I would like to publicize your efforts in the next newsletter, and on our national website so everyone can potentially benefit from a wider audience and therefore greater influence. Mark Nowakowski is presently redeveloping the national site.

Please CLICK LINK and fill out a simple form so we can take note of your Church website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube and any other platforms that can access your material.

Mark's email address is Mark@transformationmtl.com. Please copy me on that email.

Website Offer

We strongly recommend that every church has a website and a presence on other online platforms.

Surveys show that most people will check the website before attending a church, and 64% find a church by using a search engine. See MORE

If you do not have a website at present or need an upgrade, Mark and his team are offering to create one for you at a very low cost. The plan would be to draw from the Transformation Church website (Click to view) to create a custom website for your church. There are different possible levels of complexity from a simple site to a high level equivalent to their model. (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum).

The created website would be
  • easily kept up to date by anyone you choose from your group. No specialized skills are needed. Instructions would be included.
  • Initially built by the information you provide by filling out the simple form offered above.
The cost consists of:
  • A low-cost annual fee for registering the domain name and hosting the site (starting at $155 per year depending on the type of domain name)
  • A one time cost for the development of the site by Mark's team (Click to see the Price List)
If this is of interest, please contact Mark@transformationmtl.com.

Capitalize on ZOOM Meetings

Most churches are using ZOOM as a means of maintaining fellowship, prayer, and teaching sessions. This media makes geographic distance irrelevant. Some have successfully engaged speakers from around the globe to address their meetings.

The suggestion is to use this medium on a national basis. We are open to other ideas, but here are some functional areas that have been suggested:

Conferences and Shared Meetings

  • An online National Conference
The possibility of a conference style physical meeting is unlikely in the near future but has been done by other groups in an online fashion
  • Open invitations to join thematic Bible studies on some of our distinctives
The NLT is working on putting a conference together.

Training and Leadership Development

  • Shareable materials to use in our local settings, such as discipleship training,
  • A leadership track consisting of learning, mentoring and activation
  • Leading to an in-house ACC Training College
Zach Sloane is part of our NLT and has some detailed ideas and will take the lead in putting these initiatives together in consultation with the churches.

Missions

In addition to our present missions focus on Haiti, many of our churches have local sponsored missions projects because of direct relationships. We would like to create visibility for these excellent connections.

Roger Raymond is also a member of our NLT. He will take the lead in coordinating missions communications on behalf of the ACC. He will be in contact to familiarize himself with the various works, and prepare news for distribution to our newsletter subscribers as well as keeping the national website current.

Encourage One - Another

Hebrews 3:13
But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,”...

Everyone has a role to play in our present circumstances, and as a church we are no exception. We have access to the throne of grace to receive a message and a mission that delivers help to our broken world.
