Good News!

Van Belkum GRPL Branch Partnership

This summer we put together 3 scavenger hunts with the Library for area residents.

Last month we encouraged folks to make their own mandala with nature.
Through August, we have an Eye-Spy Bingo for kids up to age 18 to identify Creston area murals and win a coupon for a Small Frosty Boy Cone/Cup! Pick up a Bingo card & instructions at the Van Belkum Library.
September we will be promoting the After Dark events and also doing another scavenger hunt with the south Creston murals to create your own collage.

New Space Update

Over June & July we've had some exciting improvements in the space:

Venue, lobby & bathrooms are painted
Drop ceiling installed in lobby
Venue ceiling patched
Electrical service upgrade
Water heater installed
Water fountain installed
A/C & Heat working
Exterior ramp poured

In the coming weeks we'll have the venue ceiling painted, the concrete floor finished, and light/bathroom fixtures installed. We are getting close! We'll have more updates on the exciting exterior mural collaboration by artists Nick Nortier & Kelly Allen.

We have become members of the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA). A bi-partisan bill has been introduced called "Save Our Stages." It's goal is to provide a lifeline to independent venues, promoters, festivals, and more. Please click the Save our Stages link to write our legislators and keep independent music alive!!

The DAAC supports the end to police brutality, dismantling systematic racist barriers and empowering grassroots organizations that provide mutual aid. Below are some ways we can work together:

During August we'll be giving 25% of our online sales to Seeds of Promise. In July we donated a percentage of sales to Grand Rapids Area Mutual Aid Network raising $72!
