Update on Fall Re-opening of School

Dear ASB Families,
Happy Monday and happy last week of July! I know many of you are anxious for an update on the heels of last week’s announcements by several school districts.
At this time, we are continuing to plan for in-person school in the fall. This decision is based on the following:
- The Governor and OSPI have not changed their recommendations regarding opening school safely and we are adhering to those safety requirements.
- The Archbishop and Office of Catholic Schools continue to support the opening of Catholic schools in the fall.
We are continuing to work to ensure all possible safety measures are in place. As we prepare for the start of school, we would appreciate your feedback. All families, please complete this short family survey as soon as possible.
For incoming kindergarten families only, please also complete this additional survey.
We also continue to update and refine our digital learning protocols. Should that be necessary, we will be prepared and are refining our plans based on feedback from the spring.
As we get closer to the start of the year, I will continue to keep you updated on our plans. We all have learned throughout this pandemic that things can change in a snap, so patience, flexibility, and a positive approach to whatever happens are going to be vital to the success of our children. Also, please do your part by wearing masks, social distancing, and practicing healthy habits with your children. School reopening is dependent upon all of us doing our part to keep each other safe.
We also continue to reflect upon our role in standing up against racism, educating our children on social justice, and being a voice for change. This is recommended for Pre-K and up, and streams August 1 & 2.
