2. Northwestern Undergraduate Research Journal

The Northwestern Undergraduate Research Journal (NURJ) is a student-led publication that showcases outstanding research done by Northwestern undergraduates from across all academic fields. We have recently published two editions in collaboration with the Undergraduate Research and Arts Exposition and the Chicago Area Undergraduate Research Symposium (CAURS) on our online platform.

NURJ Online planning a global health theme for this summer’s publication and work submitted within this field or related fields would be highly appreciated. We are currently soliciting complete theses as well as any original research work in any medium (e.g. summary from presentations, posters, artwork). Materials must be the author's original and independent work. Any student who wishes to publish in this edition is welcome to and can do so using this submission form by September 1st, 2020

NURJ Paper is also accepting submissions for Volume 16, the upcoming edition of our annual paper journal. NURJ Paper publishes the best department-recommended senior theses in any and all fields. Research papers and abstracts must be the author’s independent work. Theses can be submitted by visiting our submission guidelines by October 1st, 2020

3. Research & Internship Opportunities at Argonne National Lab

Register online for a webinar about research and internship opportunities on Tuesday, September 15 from 12:00-1:15 p.m. CT. This is hosted by IEEE Chicago and is specifically tailored for current STEM students (and their parents!).

4. Free Book: Oasis Earth: Planet in Peril
Written by Rick Steiner, a professor emeritus from the University of Alaska, Oasis Earth: Planet in Peril is a book that presents a multidisciplinary, integrated summary of life on Earth (e.g., what's at stake); the interrelated drivers of environmental decline; and importantly, solutions in discussion.  Some academics will be using the book for the environmental studies classes this fall. Obtain your free copy online.
