PharmCATs,

We know you are eager to begin preparing for this new semester and all the changes that will come with it.

As such, we have developed a College of Pharmacy Fall Return to Campus website for current students which houses the latest fall semester updates, policies, support resources, and FAQ’s to help provide clarity and set you on the path for success this academic year.

In addition to sharing this new resource, I want to take a moment to point out some of the most pertinent information on this website including, fall semester class modalities, how to sign up for Wildcat Wellcheck daily screenings, and safety measures for those returning to campus.

Fall Semester Class Modalities:
As a reminder, four types of classes will be offered in Fall 2020, ranging from fully in-person to fully online. More information on Fall class formats can be found at the Office of the Registrar

Our guiding principal in developing these options is to provide every student with an opportunity to have interaction with their instructor. Whether that be live-online or in-person, your faculty members will be available for you.

Wildcat Wellcheck:
There are no apps to download or complicated systems to navigate for the Wildcat WellCheck – just answering a few brief questions on your smartphone, as prompted via a daily text message.

Here’s How it Works:

  • Students sign up on their smart phones. Text JOIN to 1-833-339-0504.
  • After enrolling, Wildcat WellCheck sends brief, daily health screens via text message
Wellness checks must be completed using the Wildcat WellCheck screening tool; it allows students to self-screen for symptoms before they are in the workplace or in class.

Campus Safety Measures:
Safety measures for those returning to campus include:
  • Daily screening questionnaire (covering symptoms and exposure history) and temperature checks through the Wildcat Wellcheck system;
  • University-provided biofluid testing - i.e. nasal and/or blood testing - through University Health Service, for those in need of confirmatory diagnosis and medical care. More information to come on access to this program for PHX students;
  • Student schedule, classroom, and teaching modifications to limit on-campus population density and facilitate social distancing;
  • Requiring masks of all persons on campus, subject to limited exceptions (e.g., medical conditions);
  • Providing numerous hand sanitization stations located conveniently throughout campus;
  • Increasing physical plant monitoring and sanitization measures;
  • Redesigning traffic flow patterns and some interior spaces to reduce risk of transmission; and
  • Signage and other communication reinforcing messaging regarding physical distancing, mask wearing, and personal hygiene.

All of this information and much more can be found on our new return to campus website. We encourage all students, regardless of whether you’ll be on campus or online to review the information provided on these pages.

As the next four weeks progress we will continue to share updates, and new guidance as it is received.

We look forward to welcoming you all back in one form or another this fall!
