Welcome to VLP: Jeanette Chapman, Nick Padron, Fredrick Soukup, Michael Wayne Hampton, and Ian Rogers!

Jeanette Chapman's memoir, Pirate Girl, offers a strong female voice and sense of place in the Carolinas, Florida, Colorado, and the Bahamas, Pirate Girl describes a lifelong process of discovery through the adventurous lessons of Earth School. It will be released in November 2021.

Nick Padron's novel, Where Labyrinths End, is inspired by real events and begins during the famed running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. When members of a paramilitary organization, ETA, kidnap the young heir to a Spanish-Basque fortune and his American fiancée – headstrong Symphony Messina, the daughter of a powerful New York Mafia captain. It triggers an unprecedented conflict between two underworld cultures where aggressors and victims become interchangeable and the Law is powerless to interfere. It will be released in December 2021.

Fredrick Soukup's novel, Blood Up North, is a harrowing novel about the burdens women in contemporary rural America bear. It will be released in February 2022.

Michael Wayne Hampton's novel, Dream Kids, features sensitive, high school junior Bryce Hughes steals his father's pharmaceutical sales samples of KlonoPin, Adderall, Prozac and whatever else he can find to stay steady and to share recreationally with his wealthy, spoiled, nihilistic friends at their wild weekend parties. Hopelessly hung up on his ex-girlfriend, Paige, whose emotions are as fickle as her taste for fashion, Bryce can barely see the quiet scholarship girl, Jaycee, who adores him. It will be released in March 2022.

Ian Rogers' novel. MFA Thesis Novel, is about the financial and self-esteem struggles creative people face as they make their way in the world specifically the restrictions and social pressures that young writers experience in grad school writing programs. Creative ne’re-do-well Flip Montcalm isn’t cut out for the cubicle life—so he jumps at the chance to join a prestigious midwestern MFA program. It will be released in April 2022.
