Final call for interest in Antibody Testing: Action required by Friday 31st July
A couple of weeks ago we shared information regarding expressions of interest for Anibody testing. The CCG has shared that it will continue to process further requests up to Friday 31st July. After this date, no further requests will be acted upon.
Antibody Testing was launched for NHS staff some a little while ago and the CCG have been supporting this for Pharmacy, Optometry and Dentistry staff across Lincolnshire. An antibody test reveals if a person has already been exposed to an infection, by detecting antibodies in their blood or serum, but are not usually used to diagnose current infection as it takes the body some time to produce antibodies. It is for personal interest and data gathering at present - this has no implication for the employer/employee in relation to the results at this stage, nor does a positive result confer any immunity.
If you or a member of your team would like to have an antibody test then please send an email to lccg.stafftestingreferrals@nhs.net by Friday 31st July 2020, clearly marking your email ‘Antibody Testing’ and detailing whether you would be able to attend on a week day or would require a weekend appointment. Tests will continue to be at Cross O Cliff Court, Bracebridge Heath in Lincoln.
We would also like to remind you that this is not a definitive test and the purpose of the test is merely for personal interest and data gathering at present; there is no implication for the employer/employee in relation to the results at this stage, the presence of antibodies does not confer any immunity; and all existing social distancing and isolation requirements must continue to be adhered to.
