Long Live Buffalo.
I've been through the desert on a horse with no name, it felt good to be out of the rain,
In the desert you can remember your name, 'cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain

Life carries a few guarantees.  Every man is born and given a name.  He will spend his life learning, growing and defining that name.  He will make choices that reveal his character, witness the outcomes of his actions and learn from these little experiments to shape his morals.  His life’s work is a continuous series of refinement and alignment of outward actions to what he wants to be.   Then one unmarked day, the heavens open up and his name is called to bring him back home.

Every passion, belief, moral, value and creative thought we act on in our short lives is tied up in our name.  The worth of that name is minted by our own devices, a reflection our own externality, a credit score of our integrity and an invaluable possession that accumulates over our lifetime.  Our name is trusted or dubious based on the balance of value in it, with every action either an investments or a withdrawal against it.

Some think that the meaning of life is to wade through a gauntlet of challenges and temptations designed to dishonor who we are, to erode our name.  We get lost in the wilderness of the world and are offered shortcuts.   All of this is a trial over which we define ourselves that in the end, the judge of our actions is a jury of one; ourselves and our self-awareness.  There is no escape or outrunning the inevitable; our moral compass is set in the direction we walk and where we end up is in a spot only our own feet take us.  In a parade of decision points that reflect who we are, our actions are how we shape who we want to be.

Choices come daily; to act or not act, to stay true to our compass or overlook what matters in exchange for cheap treasures, to stand firm or double back on our vows.  Today, take stock in where you stand, calibrate your compass to the person you want to be and invest in your name.  There is a reason it is what is on every tombstone.  What remains on this planet will be the impact he made under the signature of your name, so make it one the world smiles at.

The ocean is a desert with its life underground, and a perfect disguise all above,
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground, but the humans will give no love
