New and Upcoming...
We are excited to announce the UW Art Museum will open our doors to the public again on August 20th!  We will be open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and resume our late-night hours at a later date. Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. we would like to welcome our at-risk visitors only.

Don’t forget your mask! Per the university-wide policy face coverings are required for UW employees, students and visitors to our campus. Not to worry, if you forget we will happily supply one for you. There will be social distancing guidelines and capacity limits so please be patient with our staff as we adapt. We care for our visitors as much as we care for our artwork.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the museum - see you soon!

Teacher Leader Institute
Teacher Leader Institute: Arts-based Professional Development for Educators

Educators from across Wyoming recently completed a year long Teacher Leader Institute pilot program designed by the Art Museum Education team. This year-long experience began in summer 2019 with an in-person intensive that offered a mix of hands-on art making, and deep exploration of museum and arts learning.

Ann Simpson Artmobile Fall Virtual Programs

The Artmobile Program is offering new and innovative ways to reach communities this fall. Our commitment to Wyoming communities is steadfast as we transition to virtual technologies to bring exhibitions and programs to the farthest corners of our state. As always, programs are tailored to the unique needs of each community. Here’s the exciting part—because we are going virtual, we will be adding additional exhibitions and activities to the program. Check our webpage for updates throughout the fall.

Want to know more? Email the Artmobile Educator, Sarita Talusani Keller at artmobile@uwyo.edu to find out what the Artmobile Program can do for your community.

Fall Virtual Art Engagement Opportunities from the Education Team

Our Education Team has been working hard this summer to ensure we can create quality, safe, art engagement opportunities in virtual and physical spaces.  During the first week in July, we successfully hosted our first, live, virtual class visit with art from our collection! A special thank you goes out to Professor Diana Baumbach and her students in Contemporary Art: Theory and Practice, for helping us test new class visit options!

University art museum class visits will look a bit different as we head into Fall 2020. We have modified our art engagement options to accommodate online and hybrid teaching formats as outlined in UW’s reopening plan. Virtual and in-person art experiences are available! Please contact the Curator of Academic Engagement for details: raechel.cook@uwyo.edu and check on the website for details coming soon.
