Safari greetings from Africa!

This year has been fantastic with a record number of safaris and new and exciting happenings here at Beat About The Bush Safaris. We wish to send a special thank you to all the intrepid travellers who have explored with us this year – we hope the memories and experiences will last a lifetime!

We have had a year of great changes and we’re thrilled to announce the opening in late October of Duikersdrift Winelands Country Escape in Tulbagh, Western Cape.

‘Nestled between well-known wine farms in an amphitheatre created by the Winterhoek, Witzenberg and Obiqua mountains, Duikersdrift farm in the Tulbagh valley of South Africa’s Western Cape is a place of outstanding natural beauty. The farm offers beautifully-appointed guest cottages and the Obiqua restaurant, all in a country setting where an emphasis on guest comfort, service and hospitality ensure memorable experiences.’

We have had a truly momentous few weeks with the property being very well received and we are excited about 2019 with new developments in the pipeline.  This country Guesthouse and Restaurant is the ideal place to wind down and soak up beautiful scenery, local history and great food & wine after a safari or while acclimatising after arrival in Africa before launching on to safari destinations.

This has also been a wonderful year for wildlife sightings during incredible safaris that explored the remote parts of our vast continent. We welcomed families and friends – some first-time safari-goers and a number of explorers on return trips with us – from near and far to experience first-hand some of the most spectacular scenic and wildlife destinations. Every trip had at least one amazing wildlife encounter that, even for the guides involved, made for extraordinary memories and tales that will regale many a listener for years to come.  Each day brought with it new sensations and experiences that seemed to top those of preceding days and if you follow us on Facebook you’ll have seen photos and videos sharing some of these incredible scenes throughout the year. If you have not been following us, please give it a try and get your ‘Africa fix’ with interesting media posts and conservation articles.

All-in-all, there have been many positives on the conservation front in 2018 and we are all ‘holding thumbs’ that we can maintain this momentum going into the new year!

We look forward to hosting our 2019 safari-goers and those who are still hoping to secure their time in Africa!

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone happy holidays and may 2019 be healthy, prosperous and above all a year filled with joy and happiness.

Very best wishes,
Trevor, Caroline and family & the Beat About The Bush Team.
