What: The BUFFALO FUND: ACCELERATOR is a technology commercialization accelerator fund administered by the University at Buffalo.
Who: The program is open to principal investigators from University at Buffalo, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute, Kaleida Health and Jacobs Institute.

Fund Information: The current schedule is for two (2) funding rounds per year for the next five years. The average award amount is expected to be about $50,000 (released based on milestone success). Awards of up to $100,000 per project may be approved but will require very clear justification for the amount requested. Based on an average award amount of $50,000, approximately seven (7) awards will be made in Round 1.
Eligibility:
- Projects from all disciplines are eligible to apply.
- You must be currently employed at UB or an emeritus faculty member with an active research group.
- You must have an active and open invention disclosure on file with UB's Tech Transfer office submitted before October 11, 2018.
- Only one proposal may be submitted per funding round.
- Round 2 will open in the Fall of 2019
- If the technology has already been licensed to a UB startup, it is not eligible if the startup has received private investment or a Phase I SBIR/STTR award.

How: Pre-Proposal Applications must be submitted to fund@buffalo.edu by January 11, 2019. Pre-Proposal Applications must be endorsed by UB Technology Transfer.
