Here's what's happening at Nativity

Immaculate Conception

Tomorrow we celebrate the Immaculate Conception, the patronal feast day of America. Mary was conceived without sin in her mother Anne's womb by the grace of God - the only human conceived without original sin besides Jesus himself! Please join us for Mass on this holy day of obligation:

  • Tomorrow: 8:15am, 11am (not 9am as erroneously listed in the bulletin)

St. Ambrose

Today we celebrate the feast of Saint Ambrose of Milan (pictured above left). His preaching was influential in the conversion of St. Augustine, and as governor he was so popular that he was named a bishop despite still needing to be baptized.
Almighty God, who made the Bishop Saint Ambrose a model of apostolic courage, raise up in your Church men after your own heart to govern her with courage and wisdom. Amen!

Morning of Reflection

What can the shepherds of the Nativity story teach us about Advent preparation? Author, professor, and spiritual director Elizabeth Kelly invites you to join in "Keeping Watch by Night," an Advent Morning of Reflection at Nativity of Our Lord next Saturday.

2nd Sunday of Advent

In the first reading, the prophet Baruch tells the people to mourn no more, "for God is leading Israel in joy" (Bar 5:9). In Luke's gospel, a new prophet, John the Baptist, cries out in the desert: "Prepare the way of the Lord" (Lk 3:4).

2nd Collection

Nativity will take up a second collection this weekend for the national Retirement Fund for Religious to help provide prescription medications, nursing care, and more for sisters, brothers, and religious priests.
