 Advent Sunday 9 AM Bible Study “Preparing to Meet Jesus” Putting our hope and expectation in the coming of our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Cycles for Christmas is in its 21st year of providing children in the Sumter area with bicycles and tricycles for Christmas. Over 3000 bikes have been distributed over the years. You can help. Donations of bicycles are currently being accepted. Drop off your old bikes, trikes or anything that children can ride, at any Sumter area fire station in Sumter County (Alice Drive is preferred). Handy with tools or maybe a scrub brush? Bicycle repair days have already started on Saturday mornings at the home of Tom Lawrence, 926 Club Lane, Sumter. Last date is, Saturday: December 15, 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. Bikes will be given away on Dec 22 at Westside Baptist church. The gym will be full of bikes. Children are invited through an application process in coordination with area services and schools. Many folks are needed to assist chi ldren and families in selecting just the right bike for every child. Volunteers are needed from 8.00 am to 11.00 am. Over 250 children and there families are expected.

Prayer Requested Please pray for the vestry as we prepare the 20 19 Budget and Mission & Ministry goals for next year. Also please pray for the Nominations Committee for two vestry vacancies (including Senior Warden), for those willing to represent the parish at Diocesan Convention (March 15 & 16, 2019) and for other diocesan nominations.

Our Advent Prayer for Mission: Heavenly Father, especially in this Advent season of anticipation, give us hearts for those who do not know your Son Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. Help us at Holy Cross proclaim the Gospel of your kingdom in Sumter and strengthen us to fulfill your great commission, making disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to obey all that you have commanded.
