Mindful Parents & Educators
Here are four qualities which a compassionate parent or educator attempts to embody in the presence of children:
- Being observant
- Being patient
- Being calm
- Being positive (ie, radiating warmth)
We all exhibit these qualities quite nicely at some times, and—let's be honest—not others. What if it turned out that all four were trainable? What if you could learn to access, practice, and deepen them, by choosing precisely how to pay attention in your children's presence?
If you've never meditated, you will come away from these eight sessions with a rigorous and comprehensive system for training and understanding your awareness. You'll know how to work smarter, not harder. And if you already have a meditation practice in your life, you'll find yourself recharged with a whole set of new perspectives.
Wednesday evening MP&E sessions (6:30-8:00) at the U School have been going strong for three years now. If you haven't taken the intro yet, a new year is surely an appropriate time to get started. Please note: There's a 15% discount if you register for the 12-session deep dive: both the 8-week intro and the 4-week extension. Find out more on our MP&E page; heck, you can even download the intro course manual and get started on your own...
