In the late 1950s the Bikini was named after a Marshall Islands atoll (see photo), which had just been made uninhabitable by nuclear testing. Today Marshall Islanders face another grim reality - global warming - and they themselves have chosen a word for us to think about - 'Jumemmej'.

The Italian Network of Centers for Environmental Ethics (CepEA) has met with national political decision makers in Rome. Their submission - 'A Season for Justice' - calls for courageous investment in energy transition.

A city parish goes green - Dublin

Meet the HEST ecology cluster

The third HEST ecology cluster 'in-person' meeting decided on two projects - a MOOC (Massive Open On-line Course) on Sustainability and a research project on food waste. The paella in the photo did not go to waste - thanks largely to JESC staff!

Brussels saw its biggest ever Claim the Climate March in spite of constant rain! Starting at 1pm took more than three hours for over 60,000 protesters to walk the 2.9 km from Gare du Nord to Parc du Cinquantenaire where they enjoyed a lively concert.

The final push to Katowice!

Our prayers and our thanks are with Yeb Sano and everyone on The Climate Pilgrimage as the walk the last stages of their 1,500km journey. By beginning in Rome, where pilgrimages normally end, and making their way to Katowice in time for COP24, they are reminding us that care for the earth is our sacred trust.
